Αία is a word that appears in Homeric texts, meaning "land" or "place." This is what the brand celebrates: Greek beauty, culture, and geometry. The idea for αία was conceived when Anastasia, the maker behind the brand, travelled through Central America and was inspired by the ornate woven textiles telling the stories of the region's Indigenous peoples through vibrant colours and shapes. Passionate about embroidery, she set out to create pieces that showcase her own "place" and its stories.
Αία features unique embroidery-based jewellery and wearable statement pieces, all lovingly made by Anastasia, in Athens, Greece. Each design is inspired by Greek culture, art, and nature, often reflecting a memorable journey or cherished experience. Sustainability is at the heart of the brand: threads are 100% rayon and cotton, stitched onto cotton fabric, while all materials and packaging are plastic-free. 5% of proceeds from every item sold is donated to charity.
