Mouzalia is an independent design brand founded in 2018 by architect Lilian Garyfallidou and based on the island of Amorgos, in the Cyclades, Greece. Its name comes from a local Amorgian word meaning “doodle” and reflects the freedom of creativity, spontaneity and the joy of not taking everything too seriously.
Through original illustrations, witty wordplay and playful ideas, Mouzalia creates everyday objects and gifts with personality, including mugs, tote bags, postcards, notebooks and accessories. Inspired by everyday life, the Greek language and life’s little contradictions, the brand transforms ordinary moments into opportunities for a smile. Each design is an invitation to embrace creativity, find humour in the everyday and surround ourselves with objects that say a little something about who we are.
